So today after purchasing moto-specific gloves and a jacket made for summer riding at Murrieta's Cycle Gear, I proceeded to head direct like towards Julian on the Highway 79.
Great Customer service by the way.
The guy who helped me let me know that the store's policy was 100% satisfaction guarantee.
I guess I am recommending the place. Oh, good prices too.
Today's adventure leads us down into San Diego, starting with the windy roads that well, wind thru Julian, Cuyamaca and Alpine.
Moms.
Buy Pie Here. I think there is a sign posted somewhere that actually says that.
Buy Pie Here.
And yes, I certainly did, and ate it too. It was none other than Apple Crumb a-la-mode.
So the deal is I don't eat pie generally. Apple Pie in particular is an extreme rarity.
And when Sahr heard I bought some, and enjoyed it, she was a little pee'd off.
Jokingly of course
Riding the bicycle via this route is just one of the best ones an endurance rider can do in SoCal.
I would recommend this route from Temecula into San Diego via Julian/Alpine and then back up the coast riding up into Fallbrook, to any big distance rider visiting.
It is just a must folks! But to do it on a motorcycle...

Ready for the picture show?
And a here we go:
Proof that Andrew has a phone! First Dan, and now him.
"I'm not wearing any make-up!"
"...But I am."
On the way out, an hour or so stop at Twigg's for some blog writing and some essssssspresso.
Navigating the way to Coast HWY was straight forward.
From Hillcrest I descended Bachman Place,
turned right at the bottom towards Old Town San Diego,
and the made a left heading towards Fiesta Island to hook up into Mission Beach.
I made it up to La Jolla with no complications, at around 7:30pm.
Even made a quick stop at the Cove.
Weather at that time was 68DegF,
Overcast, and a gentle breeze.
The view: magnificent.
haha Dave. Who knew that cheesy smiles run in the family. Loved it. ^_^
