Vertical compartments inside that can be removed and built with a waterproof material...can't remember the name: VX-something. The material is a sandwich of various layers.
Light wt nylon-laminate-fishing net grid-laminate-light wt nylon.

Wild Things, Mountainsmith, TNF use it for packs.
Like I said, the material is waterproof, durable and light!

The Spectra/Dyneema (which ever is available of course...the military manufacturers have first dibs these days) rip stop he uses is pretty heavy duty stuff, but not very light.

The variety that McHale uses is quite a bit lighter and quite a bit more dollar.
