2007 Sea Otter Classic and Intense Cycles

So all this week has been preparation for the Good ol' Sea Otter Classic.
It has certainly been hectic at the Factory, what with the new prototypes and all...the Slope Style, a new Tazer VP, the new Intense Dirt Jumper / 4 cross bike, and ofcourse....the uber secret Intense M5. Yes the M5, not the M3. It's top secret, just leaked I guess! Come to the festival and see for yourself!! I'll be sure to post some "Spy Photos", but until then all I got is dis: 10.5 inches
of travel, tweaked geomtrey, 1.5 headtube, totally new monocoque, 2.5 pounds lighter and a lower leverage ratio.
Steber hopes to have CK get some feedback to him, and it will likely at some point be at our booth in the Sea Otter Expo.

I have been doin my own prep. Tire selection for weather contigency (mud, none other), full cable housing, and last minute checks.

Earlier last week I traded an XT for an XTR front deraileur! Oooooooh. 30 grams wieght reduction baby.

Also, new FRO bolts with more
CNC refinement, redesigned Box Link, and hollow

FRO Lower Pivot Bolts! Minus 13 grams on top of that! Well, all the wieght weenies and gram counters (both kinds) might give a hoot. The FRO bolt and Box Link are the very same you will find on both the Spider FRO and 5.5 FRO.

The whole team will be at the Sea Otter festival and I leave this Thursday evening. It is working the Expo tent and playing runner for the boss or whatever they want on Saturday for me, after a taste sampling of the course and some mingling. Then on Sunday, Race time! This event is a low priority for me this year, I am there to 100% support my mates on the course and make the debut of the Intense factory XC Team. Besides, mud bad for equipment, mud fun for me.

The Spider FRO. Well, technically it's the predecessor to the production version, a "one-off." Beautiful. Demos available at the Otter.

Oh yeah, tires are a goin' a sumin' like ah dis:
Set one:
Kenda Karma 2.0 in the front and and adnd
Blue Groove 2.0 in the rear.
Set two:
Botrager Jones MudX, front and rear.
All No-tubes.

Please stop by the Intense booth or the Factory Race Pit and say hi! Bring your bike and we'll take some pictures for the porn site! You could make the next center fold...

In other news, my Sahrfroggy and I had a lovely coffee ride last Sunday .

It had been awhile since I took out the Coffee Bike. My, how easy it is to forget. I was reminded why he is the most dear bicycle of all.

Sahrfrog's Bianchi, soon to be shamelessly displayed on a zine near you, er uh blog. Enjoy the Pic show.
